Custom Watercolor Crest Featuring Tranquility Farm

A custom watercolor wedding crest by Alicia Betz of The Welcoming District. This black, green, and white crest features the white anemone and roses and eucalyptus with black hypericum berries floral. Featured on top is the Virginia wedding venue, Tranquility Farm in Purcellville.

Why did I start painting watercolor crests?

I have always enjoyed painting and when I was looking for ways to add personalization to wedding welcome gifts, I just knew this was the way to do it! I love the endless creative ways this detail can add personality and thoughtfulness to a couple’s wedding and from a gift designer’s perspective, it can remove the challenging aspect of packaging. Many times the treats we love to give (and receive) are in bold and bright packaging that doesn’t match a wedding aesthetic. A custom crest removes all of that visual clutter when used as the labeling for gift goodies and I absolutely love that!

A wedding crest can also be used throughout the entire wedding planning process from save-the-dates and invitations to day-of details and thank you notes. I am thrilled to help couples create a cohesive looking welcome that represents them as a couple with details that can be cherished forever! Below, you will see a crest I painted for a modern, black and white wedding at Tranquility Farm in Purcellville, VA. It includes the venue and the elegant floral used for the ceremony and reception!

The cookie on the left was made by Tiffany of Sugar Studio and captured by Cait Kramer Photography. What a fun treat for guests to receive in their welcome gifts or on a dessert table! On the right, you can see how a crest can be displayed and cherished for years to come!

I paint each element separately so details are not missed. Here you can see what my Tranquility Farm painting looks like by itself. This would make a lovely notecard, label, envelope liner, or save-the-date!

How fun would it be to tote your crest around at the farmer’s market? And what a thoughtful memento for each guest to receive the crest as a welcome note! The welcome notes were captured by my friend, Cait Kramer Photography.
