I'm ALICIA

Hello there!

I'm happiest strolling the charming streets of Old Town Alexandria or snuggled up at home with a cup of tea, bringing creative ideas to life!

LET'S GET STARTED

or keep scrolling to learn more about me

Having you here warms my heart, friend, and I so appreciate your visit! Hopefully you can sip a cup of tea and stay awhile!

Are you looking for meaningful artwork to use in thoughtful and creative ways? If so, you're in the right place! I started my business by helping others gift Washington, D.C. themed gift boxes and wedding welcome gifts. While a gift designer, I always looked for products with pretty packaging that matched themes and aesthetics. Then I realized I could use my love for watercolor painting to make labels, gift tags, and welcome notes. This allowed me to help others in a new way; one that shared their personal story within the gift. And there's no gift more special than your personality!

So let’s start by painting a crest that represents your love story, the pup you consider family, or a map including your favorite locations. Then I’ll help you put them on fun details like stationery, gift packaging, or items for you to cherish around your home! From art prints and gift tags to cornhole boards and cocktail napkins, I’ll alleviate the stress of where to source all the best quality products and give you an heirloom that you'll want to show off for years to come!

Rescued from the woods, these two adorable kitties stole my heart and unexpectedly joined The Welcoming District team. Their adoption may have been a surprise to me, but it was kismet for sure! Click below to learn more about these cuties, their adoption story, and how it was always meant to be.

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

Lettie & Sketch

This painting, created by twelve-year-old me, resurfaced from my mom's attic in March 2022. I thought it would be fun to display something so similar to what I'm currently creating, so I brought it back with me.

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

Lettie & Sketch

Over the 4th of July holiday, 2022, my cousins found these cuties, a mama and her three kittens in the woods surrounding their Central PA home.

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

My cousin, Dana, bathed the kittens and took the mama and runt (pictured) in to give them the care they needed. Her brother's family kept the other two kittens. Mama needed immediate medical care for her eyes.

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

Lettie & Sketch

Since I was in the area to celebrate the holiday, I got to visit the mama and her kitten the next day! They were so sweet, but I wasn't planning on becoming a pet parent at that time.

Over the next few weeks, they received lots of love and care from my cousin. Mama regained more vision and the little guy put on about a pound.

Dana sent me cute photo and video updates as they got healthier and adapted to life in her home office. Eventually, I wanted to adopt this little guy.

But when I looked up at my middle school painting, I knew without a doubt that I was supposed to adopt both of them. They needed to stay together and this was my God wink. Being an artist was always His plan for me and these kitties are a part of my story.

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

Adoption day and time for names! Mama has the prettiest color markings or palette, so her name, Lettie, derived from there. I named her son, Sketch. He's a little sketchy for sure!

THEIR ADOPTION STORY

They've both adjusted to life inside. Lettie has needed continued care for her eyes including surgery to repair a tear. She has a blind spot on her left eye, but can see so much better than when she was found in the woods. She loves laying on my art table while I paint and I just love her so.

Sketch has lots of toys, but enjoys playing with art supplies and water. My white gouache was missing for days and paint brushes have been chewed, but I adore this little guy. If a painting is ever running behind, I'm probably looking for something he knocked into the unknown.
