Having you here warms my heart, friend, and I so appreciate your visit! Hopefully you can sip a cup of tea and stay awhile!
Are you looking for ways to add personality to your wedding? If so, you're in the right place! I started my business by helping others gift Washington, D.C. themed gift boxes and wedding welcome gifts. While a gift designer, I always looked for products with pretty packaging that matched themes and aesthetics. Then I realized I could use my love for watercolor painting to make labels, gift tags, and welcome notes. This allowed me to help couples in a new way; one that shared their personal story within the gift. And there's no gift more special than your personality!
So let’s start by painting a crest that represents your love story, the pup you consider family, or a map including your favorite locations. Then I’ll help you put them on fun details like stationery, wedding welcome gift packaging, or items for you to cherish around your home! From save-the-dates and gift tags to cornhole boards and cocktail napkins, I’ll alleviate the stress of where to source all the best quality products and give you an heirloom that you'll want to show off for years to come!
After time spent working in events at a hotel in Washington, D.C., I saw a need for gift boxes that featured items exclusively to our area . Many people visited the city for business/pleasure, but were greeted with gifts that could be purchased at major retailers all over the country. I founded The Welcoming District in 2015 with a mission to help others give beautifully crafted gifts unique to the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region. Each box was thoughtfully curated and included fresh floral and wonderful goodies of the highest quality from local artisans.
I was always looking for ways to make gifts special and as someone who loves creating, I wanted to start making my own gifting details. After seeing the prettiest wedding welcome gift with watercolor tags and labels, I knew that's how I wanted to grow my business. I took a digitizing watercolors course and the rest is history. Painting had always been a hobby, but now I could really use those skills! I started offering crests since they could be used on welcome notes, gift tags, and food and beverage labels. I started offering this service in 2017. My first crest is pictured here.
In 2019, I refocused my business on watercolor artistry for stationery and gifts. I love the entire process! From learning about the details of your life you want to celebrate through watercolor artistry, to painting and digitizing, to applying your artwork to pretty details and designing the perfect welcome! I also enjoy creating gifts for my shop that anyone could use for a gracious display of hospitality!
