While the Covid-19 pandemic pushed back many couples’ wedding plans, some didn’t allow the virus to postpone marriage. Carissa and Zach eloped in Charleston, SC which provided a beautiful backdrop and talented vendors who were ready to make their day special.
Watercolor Wedding Announcement
I painted the iconic Rainbow Row for this sweet couple to use on elopement announcements. (Just because you elope, doesn’t mean you can’t send pretty stationery!) I also designed a watercolor crest that featured their wedding florals and getaway car, The Pink Figgy! We ended up using their crest on a detail card with a link for friends and family to see their photos by the talented and adorable, Rebecca Sigety. Their wedding crest was also printed on a garden flag to drape over the back of the pink Nissan Figaro.
Wedding Crest Details
Carissa and Zach’s wedding crest is simply beautiful! They didn’t need a lot of icons to commemorate their special day, but made it uniquely theirs with elegant details. Here’s how their design was created. Firstly, the crest and banner color was painted to match the iconic Mills House in Charleston, SC. You may know it as “The Pink Wall” everyone gets photos in front of when visiting the area. Next, I painted and included The Pink Figgy that would serve as their getaway car. It’s such a sweet nod to a special moment – their first ride as a married couple!
A cross for their faith and a nod to the Holy City was added, as well as two palmetto trees. Finally, a custom floral palette replicated what would be in Carissa’s bouquet and Zach’s boutonniere. They chose to use their married surname on their banner and a married monogram in the center, since their crest would be used in details post ceremony.
