Meet Hoover! He’s the handsome ball of fluff sitting between his human parents, Shanna and Connor. This sweet couple is photographed in front of Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. where their wedding reception will take place. However, Hoover who will serve as “Best Pup” isn’t allowed inside. (Oh no!)

Shanna reached out to me a few weeks ago to see if I could paint Hoover so she can surprise Connor with a dog portrait gift. Since Hoover can’t be in Eastern Market, she wants Hoover painted in front as if he’s out front welcoming their guests. (😭💗) After their wedding, they’ll display this art in their D.C. home.

I paint my artwork separately so there are more options. I started with Hoover by himself. After that, I painted the background. This way, Shanna and Connor can use his portrait on lots of fun welcoming details.

Next, I put Hoover’s portrait in front of the Eastern Market painting. After that, I sent the digital files to Shanna for approval. Lastly, she had this beautiful canvas printed on her own. (You have personal printing rights. Yay!)
