Yorkipoo Dog Portrait
Meet Milli! She’s an adorable & sassy Yorkipoo whose human mom, Rachel, I met through leading Tuesdays Together DC. Since Rachel is a fellow creative entrepreneur who owns Rachel E.H. Photography, she has some really beautiful photographs of her sweet pup. It made painting her accurately SO much easier and serves as a testament of having a good photo before beginning a pet portrait project. Furthermore, the photo Rachel took that I used for reference was so perfect that I didn’t need any others.
About Milli – An Interview with Mom (Rachel)
Alicia: What do you love most about Milli?
Rachel: I love her sassy, spunky personality and how funny she is. She definitely has her own personality that shines through in everything she does. I love how she relishes being outside having fun, but also loves to snuggle and rest. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I love how cute she is! I mean… those ears! Looks aren’t everything of course, but Milli is the whole package!
A: What does Milli love to do most?
R: Milli absolutely loves to go to the beach! She loves to go on walks along the water, sniff around and dig in the sand, play fetch, chase birds, watch the water, and lay out in the sun.
A: Any quirks/personality traits you’d like to share about her?
R: I said it above, but she is hilarious! She has the best sense of humor and I swear she does certain things to get a laugh. From extensively playing with her treats, throwing her toys in the air to play fetch with herself, to prancing like a bunny rabbit through tall grass, or stomping her feet to get our attention – she’s just non-stop funny! Milli brings so much light and love to everyone she meets; she really is beloved and adored. I’m just lucky to be her ‘mom’!
Portrait Praise
“I love how Milli’s pet portrait really captures how she looks in real life. It so closely resembles a photo I took for her, which is extra special because it’s reminiscent of real-life Milli as well as a beloved photo I personally took. The colors are so intricate and realistic, and you perfectly captured the sweet look of her cute little face. I will cherish it forever, and I’m excited to have it printed to give as gifts for a few of Milli’s favorite humans. I know they’re going to love it as well!”
