Old Fashioned Signature Cocktail Sign

A true classic – an Old Fashioned. Simply put, this cocktail is a combination of sugar, bitters, whiskey, and a little water that’s been around since the 1800’s. If you like fruity or super sweet drinks, this isn’t for you. But if you love whiskey and don’t mind a few ingredients complementing its flavor, this could be your signature drink!

Old Fashioned Recipe

Your choice of whiskey is going to play a huge role in this drink’s flavor profile, so choose something you really enjoy. Unlike other cocktails, the alcohol won’t be masked by fresh juices and muddled fruit, but rather enhanced with bitters and a small amount of sugar. I worked at the upscale restaurant, Circa Clarendon for over eight years. During my time there, they started making their own maple-infused whiskey. It was SO yummy and I appreciated that extra smooth sweetness. I share this with you to encourage you to try your own twist on this classic. And speaking on twists, make sure you twist the orange peel over the drink so the spritz of juice isn’t wasted on the counter. I can’t wait for you to enjoy this classic!
