Custom Wedding Venue Painting
Investing in a custom venue painting gives you lots of options for your wedding stationery and welcoming details. For this special project, I painted Tudor Place in Washington, D.C. and used it on the top of a custom wedding crest. It was repurposed as the focal point for the invitations, too!
“A model of Federal-period architecture in the nation’s capital, Tudor Place was home to six generations of Martha Washington’s descendants from 1805 to 1983 and the enslaved workers and servants who lived and worked here. With over 18,000 decorative objects, including the largest Washington Collection outside of Mount Vernon, Tudor Place sits on 5 ½ acres in the heart of Georgetown.” – from the Tudor Place website.
Use your crest on information cards and gift tags while your wedding venue adorns the top of your invitations! I love when couples use their crests on pretty wedding details. However, be careful to not use it on everything. Having a separate piece of artwork like a venue painting gives more options. It prevents your wedding from being too “matchy-matchy.” So think of your details being sisters, not twins.
