Rescue Pup Dog Portrait
Meet Terra! She is my aunt’s sweet rescue pup. Named for her fur color, Terra, like terra cotta pottery is a beautiful, warm orangey-red. She greets you with those big eyes, some friendly sniffs, and her tail wagging. Because she is so adored, my uncle surprised my aunt with a custom watercolor pet portrait for Christmas. (Wise choice, Uncle Jeff! ☺️)
First, my uncle reached out to me with photographs. We ended up using two taken by my cousin because we loved her stance in one and head tilt in another. Next, I sketched her portrait. After that, I painted. Then I scanned and digitized the artwork. Once I completed her portrait, the files were used to make a tote bag, tea towel, and coffee mug.
A Note from My Aunt
“I really enjoy drinking my morning coffee and especially love seeing my sweet Terra’s face on the mug! Thank you, Alicia, for capturing my beautiful little rescue in watercolor. I so love and appreciate your talent.”
