Tuesdays Together DC/Alexandria – Passive Income

7/26/18

There are only so many working hours in each day. And if you’re wanting to make more money, but don’t have anymore time to spare/want to free up your calendar for what you love most, then you will need to figure out a way to make passive income. This month we met at The Congressional Club to discuss ways we can bring in extra money, whether it related directly to our business or not.

First of all, can we talk about this space?! The Congressional Club is gorgeous and we are so grateful to Natalie Thomas and Courtney McNeese of the McNeese-Thomas Group for hosting us! We took a tour of the museum and got some pictures upstairs. (Photographers, it has TONS of natural light!) Natalie and Courtney had each space ready for us, but since July was a smaller turnout, we liked the coziness of the first floor. Thank you for the champagne and hospitality, ladies! We can’t wait to come back!

Also, thank you to Rachel Hegarty for taking pictures for us! We so appreciate you, Rachel!!

To get started, we all shared what we went to school for rather than what we’re currently doing. It was so fun to hear what everyone “thought” they wanted to do! It’s also comforting to know that we’re not alone in changing our paths. Some are just starting the new creative journey and some of us have been in these new careers for a few years. Regardless, we appreciate what the past taught us and are now on a mission to spend our days doing what we love most!

With such a small group, we really got to dive into the guide provided by Rising Tide/HoneyBook. This may have been one of my favorite guides because the tips for making passive income were things that anyone can try. It can be difficult for certain services/makers to figure out a way to sell passively. If you don’t have something that can be uploaded to your site, you may feel like this type of income isn’t for you. But friends, this guide had tips for all different ways to bring in passive income! If you’re a member of Rising Tide/Tuesdays Together DC, then you should already have the link to all of this free education. If you are not a member/on the mailing list, see below so you don’t miss out!

Brigadeiro I brought for the group. (I had a bride including this dessert in her wedding welcome gifts and I wanted to try it for myself!) We were fancy. đŸ™‚

Thank you to all our members who came for our July meeting! It was so great to see you all as always!
